We asked them to share what inspires their work, the moments that have shaped their journey, and their advice for other women building businesses. Below, they share their story.
What inspired you to start or lead your business?
We both grew up in Boulder and giving back to our community that we love is what inspires us to lead this business. We strive to deliver exceptional, patient-focused care and provide our patients with the highest quality eyewear and service. Helping others everyday, whether through a new pair of glasses or an eye emergency, is what makes our business so wonderful and rewarding.
What has been one of your biggest growth moments?
One of our biggest growth moments was moving to the West End of Pearl Street. This location increased our foot traffic and has been really positive for growing our business.
What advice would you give other women building a business?
Owning your own business is rewarding, but comes with challenges. Our advice would be to hire staff who represent your core values as a business and treat them well, find an excellent accountant, and great IT support. Having people who you trust to support you in areas outside your expertise gives you the time to grow your business in the areas where you are strongest.
Why is banking locally important to you?
As a fellow local business, it is important to support other local businesses and keep growing our community. Flatirons Bank provides personalized care and really takes care of small businesses. Switching to Flatirons Bank was a great decision for our business.
